Luxury Candle Care: How to Make the Most of Your Lux & Nox Experience
You made a great purchase! Here are some tips to get the most out of your new Lux & Nox candle!
Six tips to get the most out of your coconut wax candles
1. Following the candle safety instructions.
When it comes to enjoying your coconut wax candles, safety is paramount. Always follow the candle safety instructions provided. Keep a watchful eye on your burning candle, ensuring it is away from flammable objects and out of reach of children and pets. Prioritizing safety ensures a worry-free and delightful candle experience.
2. Trimming wicks will help prolong the life of your candle.
According to the National Candle Association, your candles will burn up to 25% longer if you trim the wick every couple of hours. Keeping the wick trimmed to about a quarter of an inch creates an optimal burning environment, allowing for a more even and controlled flame.
3. Burning candle for 1 hour for each inch in diameter for the best performance.
Coconut blended waxes, unlike soy wax, have unique characteristics. When you first light your coconut wax candle, you may notice some "hang up" on the sides of the container. This is normal as the sides warm up and melt the rest of the wax. To ensure the best performance, we recommend burning the candle for approximately one hour for each inch in diameter. That means about 2.5 hours for our tins and 3 hours for our glass jar candles.
4. In general, we recommend not burning candles longer than four hours.
Cool for at least two hours before relighting. Burning a candle for too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick, which can lead to smoke and the release of soot from your candle.
5. Never let the wax get below 1/4" from the bottom.
Not all candles are made the same. As the candle burns, the vessel temperature at the bottom rises. Some candles can scorch your furniture if left burning with too little wax.
6. Moving air can disturb the flame, resulting in those pesky black marks on the glass.
Creating the perfect candle experience also involves considering the environment in which you burn your candle. Moving air from fans, air conditioners, or open windows can disturb the flame and make pesky black marks on the glass. To prevent this, ensure your candle is placed away from sources of airflow. Additionally, avoid crowded areas with frequent movement, as the flickering flame may become uneven.
7. Storing candles in a cool, dark, and dry place
Highly fragrant candles have a life span of 6 to 12 months, depending on the scent. Storing candles in a cool, dark, and dry place with a lid keeps them clean of dust and debris and helps protect the wax and fragrance.
By following these tips, you'll maximize the enjoyment of your Lux & Nox candles and savor their exquisite fragrances. Remember, your safety, candle care, and environmental considerations are crucial to elevating your candle experience to the next level. Enjoy the enchanting moments created by Lux & Nox candles, bringing warmth, ambiance, and luxury into your space.
